During the winter months you may want to try and shelter your garden furniture to avoid it getting damaged or weathered. The wind and rain can cause materials to fade and also metal poles to bend. If you have a garage or a shed that is big enough for the furniture to be stored in then this is the best option. If you are not able to store the furniture away over winter then you should invest in some decent covers. If possibly, try and get the covers that fit your furniture. Most furniture manufactures create matching covers for their items and although these are more expensive than non-genuine ones, they should offer the best protection.
If you have wooden furniture that cannot be move inside or that has previously been left outside then you may want to give it a new lease of life by painting it. Be sure to use paint that is weatherproof or varnish that has been designed for this specific purpose. If you want to save some money why not buy second hand garden furniture which you can often get cheaper this time of year and paint it next year.
