There are lots of bulbs that you can plant in the spring months, ready for them to flower in the summer. If you look after them and make sure the soil is fertile enough, you will have a beautiful blooming garden by the time the warmer weather comes around. Here are some of the bulbs you can plant in spring:
- Allium. These pretty purple flowers are round in shape and will stand out amongst the other flowers and plants you grow. They grow best when planted in a dry and sunny spot.
- Freesia. The one thing you need to bear in mind with freesias is that they may not be hardy enough to be grown out of doors, so consider growing them in a greenhouse.
- Iris. Choose from a variety of colours to complement the rest of your garden. These flowers have the added bonus of giving off a lovely scent, too.
